Virginia’s Elliott, Tech’s Pry craving wins in first season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Tony Elliott mentioned he does not just want to be a head mentor for the UVA Cavaliers, but rather an aged head mentor. He mentioned it is a function he’s been ready to phase into for a number of decades. Now his obstacle … create a champion model on and off the subject in Charlottesville.

“I wanted to be somewhere where I could construct what I believe that is the design application that displays you can gain at the best degree,” Elliott explained. “But you don’t have to compromise anything at all from a character standpoint, an academic standpoint, and participant progress standpoint.”

“He has brought a distinct vitality to the software that I’m excited to hold accomplishing,” linebacker Nick Jackson explained. “Bringing back again aged traditions with the Wahoo Walk and diverse issues like that.”

With a shift in the culture, Wahoo country hopes for a shift in the number of wins in seasons to come.

“We have a lot of fellas working challenging offensively and defensively, and I really feel like a ton of that hunger will come from the absence of good results previous season,” extensive receiver Keytaon Thompson reported. “Really want to increase on that this time.”

That was a 6-6 campaign in 2021 for the Cavaliers.

For Virginia Tech Head Mentor Brent Pry, there are five months prior to the frequent season, and there are specified things he needs to check out off the listing.

“We really do not fully grasp accurately, collectively as a group, how a great deal we have to invest and pour into this factor to gain a championship,” Pry reported. “We’re heading to get there but this is what we have to do in phase 3, in camp, we have to strengthen on, get proven, and set a checkmark by it and say alright listed here we go, I truly feel quite fantastic about that. We still have a whole lot of work to do.”
